2020
Rope plied with thrifted t-shirts, dyed with black walnuts, peppercorns, toyon. Toy rifle, Daisy brand; mattress springs; cast concrete Dalmatian head; ladle; unknown object; Trimble brick; unknown objects.
The suspended objects have been pulled from the woods around my home in Appalachian Ohio as I slowly collect debris that has been discarded there for years, sometimes decades. Some objects are recognizable--a dog's head, mattress springs, a toy gun. Others are unknowable. Each object is tied and suspended with a rope made from t-shirts worn and discarded locally, and dyed individually with various natural materials.
